Recent Google Page Rank update
One part of Google’s search engine positioning algorithm is related to the page rank of a website. Page Rank is an automated rating applied to websites, if a website is new then it will have a page rank of zero. Many people obsess about their websites page rank, it is a factor involved with SEO but a website with a page rank of zero will still be able to reach page one for certain search terms.
Whilst the page rank change is takes effect, you see some very strange search results, websites are all being re-rated and search results for common terms are not as you would expect them to be. Once the page rank update is completed, the search results return to normality taking into account any new page rank changes that have been applied.
If you are finding that your website does not rank high for particular search terms and phrases that it used to. It could be because your website has had its page rank decreased and therefore it is not considered as important as it used to be by Google.
Your page rank can be increased through SEO efforts, this is achieved by aligning your website with best practice techniques that will display a level of trust and quality to Google. The downside is a page rank update often only happens once a quarter.
